Puptopia

Puptopia is a vibrant festival that brings dog owners together to celebrate the joy and bond they share with their dogs. However, upon diving into their branding, it was clear that a refresh was needed. The rebranding process included: Logo redesign, promotional posters, a fun motion graphic piece to engage the audience, guerilla marketing, event tickets, and memorable merchandise to take home.

This is their current logo that they reuse each year.

Using elements that people easily recognize for dogs I sketched out a variety of wordmarks and logos. Some of the variants felt too serious and not playful enough, I finally landed on a hand-drawn bubbly version that checked off the boxes of play and professional. Next was picking out a symbol or two that I could place in space of certain letters. A tennis ball and bone fit perfectly as the “O” and “I” in Puptopia".

The final logo design.

3 poster variations that didn’t work out. I was able to take elements from each poster and use them in the final two posters.

The motion graphic was my favorite piece to come out of this project. The audience response was great and the video really felt like it fit with the festival. The beginning was a bit of a mess, but the end result really benefited from the changes.

The final part was creating guerilla marketing, tickets, take home merchandise.
